May have used her middle name instead of her first name, as indicated by the 1910 census^[4]

Cause of death was cerebral thrombosis ^[1].

The family gravestone says 1888^[5] and the 1910 census^[4] says she was 29 years old as of the date of the form (May 10) so she would turn 30 in 1910, thus making 1882 the year of birth according to the census. The Wise County History: A Link with the past^[2] indicates her birth year as 1881. Her death certificate appears to have a correction that says 1882^[1]. All sources agree that it was 10 Sep, and the only source that Mary may have indicated first-hand is the census. But her mother died in February 1882^[2] so she couldn't have been born in September 1882.
