Hi Matthew, I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically significant ancestors? I see you have surnames for tags. Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.
Let me know if you need any help! We're glad to have you on board!!
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, which means that all members work together as a single collaborative team. The Honor Code helps keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on one BIG tree.
The initial email from us has links you can use to get started. When you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree, beginning with tags for your own profile. Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. that you'd like to track.
If you decide to volunteer, a greeter will confirm your membership, and you'll be able to add new profiles to the tree.

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.
Not sure how to start? Check out How to Use Wikitree.
Have fun and ask for help in G2G if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. Its a fun place too. Take a look at what I mean here, G2Gs Question of the Week: What are your favorite areas of genealogy research?
The G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community, and if you would like to get more involved, see this page for volunteer opportunities.
Happy hunting!
Liz
