Biography

Margaret (Poet) Noel was born in 1732 in Lititz, Lancaster, Province of Pennsylvania, daughter of Johann Christoph Poet (1695–1753) and Margaretha Ridder (1700–1775).

Margaret (13) married John Nicolaus Noel (23) (born in 1722 in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany (now Belgium); son of Joseph Noel and Margaretha (Griffin) Noel) in 1746 in Lititz, Pennsylvania.^[1] Their children were:

• Andrew Noel Sr (1754–1817)
• John Noel (1755–1826)
• John Peter Noel Sr. (1756–~1841)
• Nicholas Noel (1758–1804)
• Captain Philip Noel (1764–1849)

Margaret died in 1779 in York, York County, Province of Pennsylvania, aged 46. She was buried in Paradise Holtzschwamm Lutheran Church Cemetery, Thomasville, York County, Pennsylvania.^{[2] [3] [4] [5] [6]}

   Record shows that Margarets maiden name was Poet and that she was born in 1722. Several of her inlaws were also buried there.... Peter her husband, his parents Joseph Noel and Margaretha Griffin. Also Peter's brother John Nicolaus Noel.

I have seen Peter listed as John Peter and I also know that in some countries it is common for all of the children to be named John Peter, John William etc. So not sure why she lists him as John, but I do know that on other records, she says she was married to Peter Noel.
