Biography

Anna Osborn was born in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.[1] Anna Ozburn, child of Joseph, was baptized in Hopkinton on July 27, 1760.[2] "James Bell jr. and Anne Osborn both of Oakham was out published July the 14th. 1792."[3] Anna Bell, nee Osborn, widow of James Bell, died on March 1, 1850, at age 90, from "old age" in Oakham, Massachusetts.[4] Anna is buried in Oakham Center Cemetery, with a tombstone that reads: "Anna. wife of James Bell. died March 1, 1850. aged 90 y'rs."[5]

Parents' Marriage Husband Joseph Osborne. Wife Jennett Hodge. Marriage 30 DEC 1751. [6] The marriage had multiple children all born in Hopkinton: Mary (aka Polly), bap. Feb., 1752; James, bap. Oct. 23, 1757; Anna (as above); Hannah, bap. Dec. 26, 1762; Elizabeth (aka Betsy), bap. Aug. 19, 1764; Sarah (aka Sally), bap. July 26, 1767; and Jennet, bap. March 4, 1769.[7] In 1801, Anna and her husband, and her sisters Polly Davis, Betsy Edmonds, and Sally Ashley and their husbands transferred seven pieces of land in Oakham to Abraham Bond, presumably as the heirs to one or both deceased parents.[8]
