Biography

April 23, 1922: Confirmation at Trinity Lutheran Church, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York.

1924 - 1930: Employed as dental assistant/hygienist for Drs. J.A. and H. Dean Smith, New Dorp, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York. Worked for 6 years for $35 per week until marriage. Saved most of wages, any board paid to parents during this time was returned at time of marriage.

June 1, 1925: resided at 240 Center Street, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York.

1925: graduated Curtis High School, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York.

1928: studied voice at the Wildermann Institute of Music, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York. Earned Junior Theory Solfeggio Harmony (vocal) certificate. Performed vocal duet "Passage Birds’ Farewell by Hildach" at Town Hall 113 W 43rd Street New York, New York.

April 11, 1930: resided at 199 Clarke Avenue, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York.

November 11, 1930: returned to Staten Island from Honeymoon.

July 1, 1933- June 24, 1935: resided at 321 Clarke Avenue, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York.

June 1935: with husband John A Dauer, purchased 2 lots: (45x100) from uncle Frederick W. Holtermann Holtermann-24, and 25x100 from father C. Henry Holtermann Holtermann-8 for $1100.00 at 273 Clarke Avenue, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York. House construction supervised by uncle Charles Holtermann Holtermann-29, laborers were Vurickio, Mungioli, Barton, Theimer each paid $5/day.

October 31, 1935: moved into to newly constructed house at 273 Clarke Avenue, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York ("Rainy day, Dauers very happy”").
