Biography

Dolphus Babcock was a Latter Day Saint pioneer.

This profile is part of the Babcock Name Study.

Adolphus moved with his father from Massachusetts to Mina, New York in 1806. He married Jerusha Jane Rowley around 1821 and had a large family with her. Around 1832 he joined the Mormons and moved to Jackson County, Missouri, followed by Hancock County, Illinois. In 1847 he went to Winterquarters, Nebraska, where he joined the great Mormon migration under Brigham Young. He went to California and found gold in 1849. He lived the rest of his life in Utah, where he died in 1872.

Adolphus must have married Jerusha Jane Rowley sometime before 1822. They had at least nine children together.
