Biography

In the 1860 Census the family is listed as living in Cooke, Texas with Joel Lilly and wife Mary A. Cherry with children,

James A Cherry Male 18 Missouri Anna E Cherry Female 15 Missouri Susan Cherry Female 14 Missouri Isaac T Cherry Male 8 Missouri Lewis H Cherry Male 7 Missouri John Cherry Male 4 Missouri Mary Cherry Female 1 Missouri

Isaac "T" is mistranscribed and should be read as an "S"

Joel is farming in Mars Hill, Washington, Arkansas in the 1880 Census. Living with him are his wife Mary Ann Cherry who is described as being born in Missouri of parents born in Maryland. Also working on the farm is John T. Cherry (22) who is described as widowed and Susan Ida Cherry an infant who is described as a daughter, but as Joel and Mary are in their 50's it would seem that she is John T's daughter.
