James Robert Bone was born in 1759 in Rowan Co., North Carolina to John Abner Bone Sr. and Margaret (Hill) Bone.
He married Asenath Potts in 1793 in North Carolina.[1]
Together they became the parents of John Houston "Jack" Bone, James Calvin Bone, Azor R. Bone, Rev. Henry Francis Bone, and Adnah Bone.
In 1805, they migrated with other members of family to Wilson Co., Tennessee. and there were born children Melinda (Bone) Campbell, Melissa M Bone, and Matilda Bone. James bought land on 24 December 1805.
James lost Asenath in 1840, and the next year when his son married, James followed the newlyweds to Independence Co., Arkansas where son Azor was already living. His grandson Elihu Calhoun Bone, and daughters Melissa and Matilda also joined the sojourn.
James died on 19 April 1846 in Arkansas[2] and was buried at Patterson Cemetery in Pea Ridge, Benton County, Arkansas.[3]
