Boats left in 1790, 1802 and 1826, carrying people to Quebec, Glengarry in Ontario and the Strait of Canso respectively." - Dwyer Family Tree: Angus' first child, Mary, was born abt 1837 at Broad Cove Marsh, Inverness, N.S.; Angus was 30 years old. - Angus moved from Broad Cove Marsh, showing up at age 72 as a farmer at South Side Harbour in the Canada Census (Dwyer Family Tree) - Family Search . org refers to Angus as: Angus "Farquahar" McLellan; I believe 'Farquahar' is translated as 'Beloved', connoting a term of endearment or respect. Gwen Dwyer Bishop, a cousin, notes Farquahar may have meant 'Father'. Also notes Angus arrived at Broad Cove Marsh, Inverness Co., N.S., at age 8; also notes Angus moved to Southside Harbour about 1878/79 with children John, Flora, Catherine (all who never married). Am wondering if daughter Ann moved earlier from Broad Cove, as she married 1 Feb 1872 at St. Ninian's, Antigonish, to John John MacGillivray of Bailey's Brook, Pictou Co., N.S. where they farmed after the marriage, John John being my maternal gt.grandfather. Gwen Dwyer Bishop also notes Angus passed at age 84 according to an account of the time - likely The (Antigonish) Casket.
