Marie Josephe Prinzessin von Sachsen was born on 4 November 1731 at Dresden, Sachsen, Germany. 4 She was the daughter of Friedrich August II von Sachsen, King of Poland and Maria Josepha Erzherzogin von Österreich. She married Louis Ferdinand de Bourbon, Dauphin de France, son of Louis XV, Roi de France and Marie Charlotte Sophie Leszczynska, Princess of Poland, on 10 January 1747 at Dresden, Sachsen, Germany, in a proxy marriage, and later on 9 February 1747 at Versailles, Île-de-France, France. She died on 13 March 1767 at age 35 at Fontainebleau, Île-de-France, France, from tuberculosis. She was buried at Sens Cathedral.
She was given the name of Marie Josephe Caroline Eleanore Franziska Xavier at birth.4 She gained the title of Prinzessin von Sachsen.1 [1]
