John was born on 12 Dec 1709 in Chester, Pennsylvania. John was the 3rd of 11 children born to noted Quaker minister, John Salkeld and Agnes (Powley) Salkeld.
He married Elizabeth Worrall 13 Jan 1732 at Chester Monthly Meeting, in Chester, Pennsylvania, and together were parents to 13 children.
He died on 24 Jan 1777 in Chester, and was buried in Saint Paul's Burying Ground.[1]
