Emma was born in 1864. Emma Gaylite ... She passed away in 1934, and was buried at Ottawa Indian Cemetery, Miami, Ottawa County, Oklahoma.[1]
Funeral services were conducted at the Ottawa Baptist church Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Emma Patton who passed away Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. at the home of her son, Les Patton, six miles east of Miami.
Mrs. Patton was 70 years of age and was well known in this community. She was a good christian woman, a good mother and a good neighbor. She was a member of the Baptist church. Grandma Patton, as she was called by so many friends, who knew and loved her so well, will be sadly missed as she was so kind and loving. She had been in very poor health for a long time. Her husband preceded her in death a few years ago and she has expressed her desire so many times to join him in a better world but God in His wisdom saw fit to keep her here until now.
She leaves to mourn her passing, seven children, who are: Mrs. C.B. Whittington of Purdy, Mo., Mrs. Walter Stoner of Miami, Mrs. Harold Davis of Seminole, John Patton of Wyandotte, Walter Patton of Seminole, Ora Patton of Wyandotte and A.L. Patton of Miami, Route 1 in whose home she passed away. Also a large number of grandchildren and some great-grandchildren besides other relativbes and her many friends and neighbors.
The Rev. Robert Denton conducted funeral services. The Cooper Undertaking company was in charge. Interment was in Ottawa cemetery.[2]
