Ancaster's Heritage Vol II, p. 78 & 79 says: Re:Con. 4 Lot 22 George Myers was born in 1781 in New Jersey, and died in Ancaster in November 1857. He is buried in Myers Cemetery near Trinity, but no stone has survived. It is not known when he settled in Ancaster, but he submitted a small claim for L16 damages in the War of 1812. He was married twice, firest to Mae (no other information provided), secondly to Mary Pettit(?), no other information provided. He had four children: Amanda Myers (1806-1872) m. Ben Sage; Jabez Myers (1810-1839) m. Anne Barton (1810-1904), who later married John File; Lydia Myers (b. 1811) m. Richard Epps (1816-1889) of 4/47; Henry Myers m. Abigail (d. 1869).

I don't know where Jabez is buried, or where he died. I think it is likely he is buried in the Myers Cemetery in Ancaster. Disrespectfully, before the town of Ancaster took possession of the cemetery in the 70s/80s, the cemetery was used as a horse jump training field, so many stones are lost. It is also possible he is in an unmarked grave in Salt Springs Cemetery in Brant County where his wife Anna is buried. This is less likely, but cannot be ruled out as the church there is probably the church he and Anna were married in. Sadly, the church documents were lost in a fire in the early 1900s, so there is no way to know for certain.

Family lore says that Jabez fell off his horse and was dragged to death. This is verified in "Ancaster's Heritage: A History of Ancaster Township", Ancaster Township Historical Society, 1973, p 280
