Biography

Ellen Soule was born on 28 Sep 1828, in Bridgton, Maine, her father, Reverend Charles Soule, was 34, and her mother, Phebe (Bartol) Soule, was 44. ^[1]

Ellen married Edward Prince Banks on September 25, 1853, in Maine. They had four children in 10 years. including: the genealogist Charles Edward Banks.^[2], Martha Ellen Banks, George Bartol Banks, and Frederick Soule Banks.

She died on March 5, 1914, in District of Columbia having lived a long life of 85 years, and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, Maine.

Several documents define Ellen's death date as 1914. One document, from newspapers.com (published on Mar 6, 1914 in the Evening Star newspaper) reports Ellen P. Banks, 85 years old, as having died in the District of Columbia at 3800 14th street, Northwest.
