Birth and Origins

Reverend William Archdall was the son of Henry Archdall and Elizabeth Kelly. He was born in 1774.

Marriage and Family

William married Louisa Hewan (daughter of Captain Thomas Hewan and Elizabeth Leslie), in 1799.

They had children:

  • Venerable John Charles Archdall b. 13 Jan 1804, d. 11 May 1897

Education

He was educated by Mr Martin and entered Trinity College Dublin on 5 July 1788, aged 14. B.A. 1793, M.A. 1832. [1]

Occupation

He was the Rector between 1798 and 1843 at Tintern, County Wexford, Ireland. He was collated Prebendary of Tecolme (Leighlin) on 6 July 1843 and installed on 21st July. He resigned the prebend the following year. He lived at Seaview, County Wexford, Ireland, (near Fethard).

Death

He died on 15 October 1845[2]

On the 15th instant, at Stradbally, in the Queen's County, aged 71 years, the Rev. William Archdall, incumbent of Tullomoy and Fosse.
