Philip Tome (sometimes spelled Tomb) was born 22 March 1782 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania near the present city of Harrisburg. Parents: Jacob Thome (1750 - 9 Jun 1813 Lycoming County, Pennsylvania) and Jane Christine Snyder (1756 - 1841)
He married Mary Yaunce b. abt. 1786 in Pennsylvania

His family moved up the Susquehanna River about 90 miles in 1786, traveling in a keel boat. They landed in Farris Creek in what was then Northumberland County and remained there about four months. See[2] for complete biography.
