He was married three times : first to Abigail Haughton, with whom he had Sarah, next to Mary Tubbs & thirdly to Mary Miner - there were a total of 8 children

Joshua Hempstead's diary: 5 March 1758: “Old Ms Leach died last night, aged 80 odd 83 yer. Last of the family of Tubbs’s. Her first Husband was John Crocker and her 2d and last was Thomas Leach the first.” Hempstead was related to her.

Leach-3472 and Leach-3436 appear to represent the same person because: History of New London, Connecticut; Chap XIX, , pub. 1852; pg. 374; "Thomas Leach, died Nov. 24, 1732. He was eighty years of age and had dwelt in the town upward of fifty years. By his first wife, Abigail, daughter of Richard Haughton, he had but one child; vi., Sarah, who was born in 1684 and married in 1706 to Andrew Crocker. His second wife was Mary, daughter of Clement Miner; and his third, the relict of John Crocker. His children by the three wives amounted to thirteen. The sons who lived to have families were, Thomas, born about 1690; Clement, in 1693; Samuel, in 1707; Joseph, in 1709; Richard, in 1711, and Jonathan, 1716."
