Grundy County had been formed in 1844 from parts of Warren and Coffee Counties, Tennessee, and it's possible that Reuben was related to Jacob Joseph Lynn of Warren County. His older brother, William Riley Lynn, lived in fact in Warren County in 1850. However, the Findagrave memorial for his older brother Thomas states that their parents were William Lynn and Mariah (Ashley) Lynn.[2]
Like most of his family, Reuben moved to Crittenden County, Kentucky. However, the time of his move is unknown as he has not been found in the 1860 census.
