Biography

Stephen L. Farrington was the son of Stephen Farrington and Anna Frances Adams, born in March of 1872^[1] in Fairfield county of Connecticut.

He died on 17 December 1923^[2] in Norwalk, Connecticut. He was buried in East Norwalk Historical Cemetery, Connecticut.^[3]

STEPHEN FARRINGTON DIES IN THE HOSPITAL

Succumbs to Complications Due to Auto Accident in Which Leg Was Broken

Stephen Farrington, 52, of 213 East avenue, formerly of Main street, died yesterday afternoon at the Norwalk hospital, succumbing to complicated trouble following an accident two months ago in Georgetown when he was struck by a motorcycle. In the accident, Farrington suffered a compound fracture of the left leg. His injury was not thought serious at the time but an infection set in, resulting in gradual decline.

The deceased was struck on October 6 while walking along a Georgetown road. He was hit by a motorcycle operated by Wallace Taylor of Flax Him road, formerly of 56 Van Zant road. Dr. Samuel H. Hunting for medical examiner, was informed of the death yesterday afternoon. He went to Georgetown today to look at the place where the accident was occurred. It is probable that an inquiry will be inducted tomorrow or Thursday by coroner John J. Phelan.

Farrington was an employee of the Charles H. Harris, Inc. glass plant in Main street. Surviving him are his mother, Mrs. Frances Farrington; one sister, Mrs. D. Rziph Havens, and four brothers, Frank, Harry, Edward and Meyer. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late residence, 213 East avenue, and interment will be in East Norwalk cemetery. Captain William Perkins of the Salvation Army's Norwalk branch will conduct the services.
