Biography

James was born in 1870 in Indian Territory, Atoka, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Walton Kelly and Sarah Abigail Ward.

On 2 Oct 1903, in Pittsburg, OK, he married Lavada Lee Mackey ^[1](1879-1950; dau. of William Tolbert Mackey & Medora "Dora" Grimes). They settled in Atoka and had 3 children.

1. Pearl Abigail Kelly b. 1904 - d. 1962, m. Joseph McCulley
2. James Gorman Kelly b. 1906 - d. 1969, m. Eula Ola Rhyne
3. Mackey Van Kelly b. 1910 OK - d. 1999 CO, m. Thelma Louise Nichols

James passed away in 1950. He is buried at the Wardville Cemetery.
