Biography

Arthur was born in 1628. He was the son of John Northcott and Grace Haswell. He was christened on the 25 March 1628 - Newton St Cyres, Devon, England. [1]

He married Elizabeth (Welsh) Northcote in 1647 at Newton St Cyres, Devon, England. They had about three children;

  1. John Northcote, b. 1649 -1680,
  2. Arthur Northcote, b.1651–1680,
  3. Elizabeth Northcote, b, 1652 - 1654.
Note: From the date of Elizabeth Northcote's baptism (12th September 1652), and the date of her mother, Elizabeth Welsh's burial (9th September 1652); both in Alverdiscott, Devon - it appears that the latter may have died due to complications related to childbirth.

He married Elizabeth (Godolphin) Northcote. Marriage Banns: where read on the 3 December 1654 at Godolphin Park Cornwall, England. They had together about eight children;

Arthur passed away about the 15 April 1688 at Kings Nympton, Devon, England age 60, he was buried at St James the Apostle Churchyard, Kings Nympton, North Devon District, Devon, England. [3]
