Biography
Jonathan is the son of Jonathan, son of Isaac, son of Caleb, son of Caleb, son of Nathaniel, son of Stephen of Elizabethtown.
Jonathan was born in 1827 to Jonathan Edwards and Mary P. (Thompson) Crane. His mother is the daughter of Elias and Fanny (Britton) Thompson.
In 1850, Jonathan and his wife, Hannah, were living with her parents, William and Sarah Runyon, at Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey.
Jonathan was a 1st Lieutenant of Company G, 37th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry.
They had one child: Samuel Abernathy Crane.
