Biography

Anna was born in 1824.

Raised by Mec Smith at Springfield after her dad died in 1837. ^[1]

She married Dr. Manson at her Springfield home ^[2] then moved to the Blackman, Tennessee's James Bass’ home where she had 5 children.

She passed away in 1880. ^[6]

Manson, Ann Eliza [Crockett] Died March 1880, testate. Will dated June 2, 1877. Will presented for probate April 5, 1880. The testatrix gave to her husband, James E. Manson, Sr., in trust any and all property, real and personal, with all income it would produce, rents, privileges and emoluments thereto pertaining to be exclusively controlled by him but not subject to attachment or execution for any debts or liabilities of him, J. E. Manson, Sr., then due or later contracted. Her husband was authorized to give during his life or to divise by will any part or portion of the estate to either or all of the testatrix’s children or their husbands at his discretion. He was further authorized to exchange or sell any part or portion of the land and to make full title to the same. April 5, 1880, County Court: The will of Mrs. Ann Eliza [Crockett] Manson (deceased) was presented for probate and recorded. Davidson Co., TN Marriage records: James Manson married Ann Eliza Crockett on January 30, 1844. 1870 Rutherford Co., TN Census, Dis. 7: James Manson, 47; Annie E. Manson, 46; Robert G. Manson, 19; James E. Manson, 17; Annie E. Manson, 12; Sallie Manson, 6; Mary A. Beaty, 28; Mary E. O????, 26. Rutherford Co., TN Mortality Census: A. E. Manson, age 56, female, married, died March 1880, of consumption.^[7]
