Rachel Cuff is a part of US Black heritage.
Rachel was born in 1824 in Fairfield, Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States.[1]
In the 1850 census Rachel was living in Upper Alloways Creek, Salem, New Jersey.[1]
In the 1860 census Rachel was living in Alloway, Salem, New Jersey.[2]
In the 1870 census Rachel was living in Lower Penns Neck, Salem, New Jersey. Post Office: Salem.[3]
In the 1880 census Rachel was living in Lower Penns Neck, Salem, New Jersey. Marital status: Married. Relation to Head of House: Wife.[4]
In the 1900 census Rachel was living in Elsinboro, Salem, New Jersey. She is the widowed head of the household. She is living with her unmarried son Albert, her recently married son Wilkes (Andrew) (but not his wife), an adopted daughter Panzey Cuff, an adopted son Oscar Pierce, and Anthony Gould, a laborer. Rachel's LNAB may have been Gould and Anthony could be a relative.[5]
In 1913 according to a city directory Rachel was living in Bridgeton, New Jersey.[6]
Rachel died at the age of about 94 on 7 August 1918 in Lower Alloways Creek, Salem, New Jersey and was buried in Canton, Salem County, New Jersey.[7]
