Mary Kitchen was christened at Salem in May of 1684, the daughter of Lieut. Robert Kitchen and Mary (Boarderman or Boardman) Kitchen. While an unsourced Find A Grave memorial page offers an exact birth date of 27 May,[1] the available primary record gives only the month and year of her baptism and thus only "May 1684" is shown in the data field above.[2]
Mary married John Turner at Salem in the spring of 1701. Widowed in 1742, she survived John by at least a quarter-century; her death is reported in Massachusetts: Legislators of the General Court as occurring about 1769, and her Find A Grave page reports her passing in 1768[3] It is likely that she died at Ipswich, where she spent her last years with her daughter Elizabeth and Elizabeth's husband, Col. Thomas Berry (also recorded as "Berg").[4]
