Biography
Margaret Archibald was born in 1797, the daughter of Samuel "Lame Sam" Archibald and his first wife Margaret[1]
On December 18, 1828, she married Peter Grant[2] [1] Their children included:
- James C. Grant, born in 1829, who married Anna Maria Stewart[3], and who died in Maine in 1908[4]
- Samuel Archibald Grant[1], born September 22, 1830, who married Mary McLean on July 9, 1850, and Hannah (Dickson) Green on July 11, 1870[5]
- Matthew Henry Grant[1], born July 14, 1833, who married Sarah Thomson on December 30, 1857, and who died in 1922[6]
- Hiram Alexander Grant[1], born May 6, 1838, who married Margaret Stewart on November 30, 1864[7], who died in 1916[8]
- one other child[1]
Margaret Archibald Grant died March 24, 1865, and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Aspen, Guysborough County, Nova Scotia along with her husband[9]
