Biography
Mary was probably born in 1748, likely with the birth surname of Carr.
On 26 May 1778, Mary Ann Carr marries Joseph Nuguss at St. Peter Mancroft at Norwich.
On 29 July 1781, Hannah Nugus is baptised at St. Andrew's, South Lopham, Norfolk, child of Joseph and Mary Nugus.
On her 1787 marriage entry to John Vincent, she is described as a 'widow', so Nugus appears be her 'married' name. The more widely-used spelling is Nugus, and there is a number of these in Norfolk at this time. A death entry for Joseph is elusive, however.
On the Baptismal Entry of their son John Vincent at St. Andrew's, South Lopham in 1790, she is described as 'late Nugus widow.' This is also present on the Baptismal Entry of their daughter Charlotte of 1792, and Fanny in 1794.
On her death entry in 1818 as wife of John Vincent, her age is stated as 66, giving a birth year of 1752.
There is a baptism of Mary Ann Carr at St. Peter Mancroft on 6 Jun 1748, parents are William and Deborah. A marriage of this couple is also elusive...
