Biography

Claude Mizer was born 18 Feb 1902, [1] in Seneca, Missouri. He was the son of John Mizer and Effie Wiseman. [2] In 1910, At age 8 he was living with his parent's, along with his brother, Floyd-10, and sister Fern, age 4, in Soal Creek, Newton Co., Missouri.[3]His parent's divorced. By 1920 his father took the children and moved to Cleveland, Cimarron Co., Oklahoma. where at age 18 he was working as a Laborer and living at home.[4]
He married Marie “Rie” Janie Thomson in 1929, when he was 27 years old, she was age 24.[5]
They made their first home in Las Palomas, New Mexico, where he had a barber shop, and Marie was a School teacher.[6] They moved on to Hot Springs, (now called Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico by 1935.
On the 1940 Census, He was age 38, living on Ivy St. in Hot Springs, Sierra, New Mexico, where he was a barber. His wife, Marie, was a teacher and his father, John Robert “Bob” , retired, was living with him.[7]
His wife Marie was killed in a automobile accident in 1960, in Deming, New Mexico, when she was age 55. She was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Deming, Luna Co., New Mexico. [5] They had been married 31 years.
He died July 18, 1989, at the ageof 87, in Pomerene, Cochise Co., Arizona. He was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Deming, Luna County, New Mexico.[1][8]
