Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Legard and Frances Digby. She was baptised at Ganton, Yorkshire on 27 April 1730 with her birthdate given as 19 April that year.[1] She was buried at Ganton on 6 February 1730/1 (1731 in modern reckoning).[2]
