Henry was born in 1842, the son of Russell Allen and Anna Fassett. He enlisted in the 105th O.V.I. In 1862-Aug and was discharged from service two months later.[1][2] "The 1890 veterans census notes he was affected by sunstroke 1862-Sep-16 at Louisville, Kentucky. He passed away in 1909.

Enlisted into Company D of the 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on August 11, 1862 at age 20 as Private. He was discharged on October 21, 1862 at Louisville, Kentucky for disability.
