Research Notes

Mother Eliza and children Jessie and Arthur died within a span of four months between November and February. A New Castle News article on 2 Aug 1893 titled "Is It True" speaks of the deplorable conditions of drinking water for the city of New Castle and the prevalence of Typhoid Fever. While no death certificates were found, it is possible this illness either took their lives or was a contributing factor in their deaths.
