Biography

Isreal or Israel^[1] is the son of David Goodrich and Prudence Benton.^[2] and was born 07 NOV 1756. ^[3]

He served in the Revolutionary War.^[4] His rank was Lieutenant and he served with the "Continental Troops".^[5]

He died 19 February 1779 or in Glastonbury.^[6][7] NOTE: Case (1889)^[8] has death date of 7 Sep 1779, but the headstone and other records are very clear his death occurred in February.

His headstone, shared with his younger namesake brother, reads: "In memory of Isreal Goodrich / Son of David & / Prudence Goodrich / Who died Febry ye 19 / [A]D 1779 / in ye 25th Year/ of his Age/ Also Isreal died Octr 13 / AD 1779/ Aged 4 days."
