Biography

Christopher was the son of Ephraim Briggs and Sally Townsend.^[1] According to his entry on FindAGrave, he was born 21 March 1828, in Concord, Erie, New York.^[2]

By 1860, he had married Jane Colburn.^[3] The couple had a daughter Charlotte, who married John West.^[4] State and national census data show the daughter identifying variously as Maud or Lottie.^[5][6][7]

Widowed in 1905, Christopher eventually lived with his daughter Lottie and her husband.^[8] He was buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery, West Valley, New York.^[9]
