Birth

Amasa Stetson was born in 1775 at Mansfield, Connecticut. ^[1][2] He was the 6th child and son of Timothy Stetson and Zeruiah Church. ^[2]

Residence

Born in Connecticut, he moved west in 1789 with his parents to Otsegotown (Pittsfield), New York, then to Seneca County, New York, then on to Hamburg, New York where his first children were born. He then moved, with his family to Montville, in northeast, Ohio, where he died and is buried.

Death

He passed away 12 April, 1842 at Montville, Ohio, age 66. ^[3] He is buried with several family members in the Montville Cemetery, Montville, Ohio ^[9]
