Biography
Henry White is Notable.
Birth
General Sir Henry Dalrymple White was born on 5 July 1820. He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir John Chambers White and Charlotte Elizabeth Dalrymple.
Military Service
He fought in the Crimean War between 1854 and 1856. He was commander of the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons. He gained the rank of Colonel in the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons.
Honours
He was awarded the Order of the Medjidie 4th class, Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur and appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)
Marriage
- He married Louisa Mary Smith, daughter of Martin Tucker Smith and Louisa Ridley, on 12 May 1858. Their marriage was registered in St George Hanover Square, Middlesex in the second quarter of 1858.[1]
- He married Alice Elizabeth Malcolm, daughter of Neil Malcolm, 13th of Poltalloch and Harriet Mary Clarke-Jervoise, on 14 February 1863. Their marriage was registered in St George Hanover Square in the first quarter of 1863.[2]
Death
He died on 27 March 1886 at age 65. His death was registered in Christchurch, Hampshire in the first quarter of 1863.[3] He was buried at St. Nicholas Church, Peper Harow, Surrey.[4]
