General Sir Henry Dalrymple White was born on 5 July 1820. He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir John Chambers White and Charlotte Elizabeth Dalrymple.
He fought in the Crimean War between 1854 and 1856. He was commander of the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons. He gained the rank of Colonel in the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons.
He was awarded the Order of the Medjidie 4th class, Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur and appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)
He died on 27 March 1886 at age 65. His death was registered in Christchurch, Hampshire in the first quarter of 1863.[3] He was buried at St. Nicholas Church, Peper Harow, Surrey.[4]
