Son of David Branson and his 1st wife, Sarah Ann "Sally" David (c.1810 TN -c.1844, MO), who married on June 14, 1832 in Gasconade County, MO, William Riley Branson was born in 1838 in Missouri. He married Henrietta Gasaway (1843-1943) on March 20, 1859, in Osage, Missouri.[1] He lived in Indian, Oklahoma, on June 17, 1890.[2]
He is last found on the 1900 census, enumerated July 14. Henrietta does not give a marital status on the 1910 census but is living with her son, John, and William is absent; in 1920 she is marked widowed and did not file for her widow's pension until 1930.
