James Edwin Hudson was born in 1886. He was the 3rd son of Alexander Hudson and Fanny Moss. Enlisted for war service with the AIF during WW1 in July 1915, at first 23 Bn; serving in Egypt, then 58 Bn transferred 23rd Bn, Boulogne France. Gun shot wound to right wrist. Unable to hold a rifle after recovery. Repatriated to Australia & discharged July 1917.
Application for farm supplied under 'soldier settlement Act' dated 1918; That application notes 'James was about to be married'. He was granted 26 acres at Gigarre, Victoria. about 30 km west of Shepparton.[1]. Married Phyllis Bryce in 1919. He passed away 1966 at Coburg, Victoria. aged 79 years.
