Biography

Ida H. Janssen, born 7 Jan 1883, was a daughter of Jurgen Munts Janssen (1 Aug 1854 - 1 Aug 1920 ^[1]) & Friedericke Johanna (Schleuter; 15 Dec 1851 - 1 Jun 1917 ^[2]).

She married 20 Jun 1906 at Peoria, Illinois, Allyn Campbell Breed (1882-1959).

The census record of 1910 charted this family in residence with Allyn's mother (widowed) in Peoria, Illinois ^[3]. The family remained in Peoria in 1920 and 1930 ^[4],^[5]. Among these records the following children are apparent:

• Winifred Breed, b. 1910
• Marvin A. Breed, b. about 1912
• Margaret E. Breed, b. about 1818

By 1940 (probably about 1937), Allyn, Ida, and their two younger children had relocated to Washington, DC ^[6], yet maintaining their principal residence in Peoria ^[7].

Ida Henrietta (Janssen) Breed died 11 Mar 1968. Her grave is in Parklawn Memorial Park and Menorah Gardens, Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA, marked by a stone shared with that of her husband ^[8].
