New York congresswoman (NY-9) and Queens district attorney best known for running for vice president in 1984 with Walter Mondale, the first woman to do so with a major American political party and the only one until Sarah Palin in 2008.
She was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 1994 [1].
