Lyda was born in 1877. She was the daughter of James Terrill and Nancy Hamilton. She passed away in 1959.

In the 1880 census for Winchester, Franklin Co., TN, J. W. Terrill (age 43 and b. in KY) was head of a household. He was living with his wife Colie (age 28), daughter Maud (age 18), son Menter (age 12), daughter Sukey (age 10), daughter Claytie (age 7), daughter Blanche (age 5), daughter Lida (age 3), daughter Pattie (age 1), and three boarders. J. W. was listed as the Pres. of New School.
