David Cruickshanks Johnston passed away in the Bayview Private Hospital, at Townsville, Queensland, Australia, from Appendicitis, in November 1930.^[3][4] He was living and working in the Burdekin at the time, and was buried at the Ayr Cemetery, Ayr, Queensland, Australia on the 1st of December 1930, in unmarked grave no 949.^[5]
