Biography
Marvin Palmer was born 24 May 1768 @ Stonington, Connecticut, the sixth child of Elias Palmer and Esther Randall.
Note that the correct spelling of this girl's name is Marvin. The given name Marvin is, and has traditionally been, conferred principally upon females. The name Marvin became attached to some males only in very recent times. The name Marvin is derived from the same root word as for the word marvelous, or in some way distinct from the ordinary. Similarly derived words are marble, marmolated, marmelade. Her name was Marvin.
