Biography
Amos Halbert was born as a Posthumous child, after father had died in 1777. Settling of Lt. Jame's Estate in 1783 noted he was 4 years old and was put under the guardianship of William White Esq.
His father James Halbert Sr served as a Lieutenant for Massachusetts. He died while in service 11-16-1777. His wife was Jennette Hunter. Children in the patriot file: John who m. Asenath Webb, Hannah who m. Enoch Mills, Amos who m. Miranda Seymour, William who m. Alice Banister, James who m. Ruth Selden. [1]
Father-in-law Ebenezer Seymour served as a Private for Connecticut with Lieutenant Seymour during the American Revolution. His wife is Achsah Woodruff. Children: Dyer who m. Elinor Wilcox, Miranda who m. Amos Halbert, Archibald who m. Annis Young. [2]
