Carol Anne Roberts Armstrong 1936 ~ 2011

Monterey - Carol Anne Roberts Armstrong, 74, passed away March 29, 2011. She was born in Kenmore, NY, to William Bertie Roberts and Eugenia Cook Pratt, was graduated from Westminster College (PA), and undertook graduate work at Syracuse University. In 1959, she married C.E. Armstrong, USN, of Pittsburgh, PA, and began her illustrious career as a Navy wife, living in numerous cities throughout the U.S. and in London (where she returned for her West End debut in 2007). After raising her two sons, Carol served as a docent at Smithsonian American Art Museum, Newport Harbor Art Museum, Monterey Museum of Art, as a board member of Pacific Repertory Theatre, and as head of training at Robinson Jeffers Tor House (where she was also a board of trustees member). Carol was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Richard. Survivors include her husband, Skip and two sons, Todd (of San Francisco) and Andrew (of Baltimore). A memorial celebration will be held at later date. The family asks that anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in Carol's name to please do so to Angel Flight West, PacRep, or the Robinson Jeffers Tor House Foundation.
