Biography

Preston Dorazo Gillespie was born on 15 November 1863, in Mount Pleasant, Sanpete, Utah, United States. His father, Robert Hemphill Gillespie Sr., was 34 and his mother, Nancy Mariah Layne, was 24. He married Ida May Peach on 2 July 1890, in Strawberry, Gila, Arizona, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 10 daughters. He lived in Mountain Dell, Uintah, Utah, United States in 1900 and Mesa, Colorado, United States for about 20 years.[1]

In 1870 he was enumerated in Fountain Green, Sanpete, Utah Territory.[2] The household included Alpheus M Galespie 16, Eleanor W Galespie 13, Emma S Galespie 10, Temperance L Galespie 9, Preston D Galespie 7, Mathew L Caldwell 4, Norah E Caldwell 1, Cornelius Collard 38, Sarah Collard 32, Elizabeth Collard 10, Mary Collard 8, William Collard 5, and Harriet Jane Collard 3.

He married Ida M. Peach on 2 July 1890 in Strawberry Valley, Gila, Arizona Territory.[3][4]

He died on 7 May 1936, in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado, United States, at the age of 72, and was buried in Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado, United States. Preston was mentioned on a memorial in Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado with a death date of 1936.[17]
