Samuel was born about 1881. He was the son of Samuel Barr and Mary Whitson. He passed away in 1922.

Samuel William Barr was born in Lebanon, Laclede Co., Missouri, USA in 1881. He was the youngest. He was a small baby when his father died in 1882. His mother died when he was 14 leaving him an orphan. He worked hard for an education. He did any kind of work and graduated from high school and went to Springfield College. He taught school for a short while then entered the grain and flour and feed business in Butler, Missouri. He owned an automobile agency until it burned in about 1922.
