Eliza Huff was born March 29, 1832 at Lock Haven, PA to Jacob Huff and Catherine Litz or Lils. Elizabeth's death certificate list the mother as Lils and brother Frank’s has Litz.

1850 Allison, Clinton, PA, Jacob Huff 41 born abt 1809 PA, a Laborer, Catharine 38 born abt 1811 PA, Elisabeth 18, John 16, Andrew 14, Thomas 13, Ann 11, Mary 7, Catharine 5, Geo 3, Matilda 3 months.

Eliza was married to James Johnson.

Eliza died at Leominster, MA on Jan. 24, 1915. She was 82 years, 9 months, and 25 days old, widowed, and lived at 168 Lancaster St. Eliza was taken to Renovo, PA for her burial in Fairview Cemetery on Jan. 27th.

The Clinton County Times, Fri., Jan. 29, 1915. Death Record. Johnson – Mrs. Eliza Johnson, formerly of this city, died at the home of her son, J. G. Johnson, at Leominster, Mass. Sunday of a complication of ailments, age 82 years, 9 months, and 25 days Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Methodist church for 35 years and was a most excellent christian woman, whose many deeds of kindness will ever be remembered by the recipients. Deceased is survived by three son and two daughters, as follows: D. B. and A. H., this city, J. B., Leominster, Mass., Mrs. Eliza Newell, Castanea, and Mrs. Wilda Bittings, Renovo. She also leaves three sisters: Mrs. Mary Hevner, this city; Mrs Matilda Gilliplaine, Shamokin, and Mrs. Ellen Nestlerode, Castanea. The remains arrived here Tuesday morning on the flyer and were taken to the home of deceased’s son, D. B. Johnson, on Washington street, where short services were conducted Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock by Rev. C. J. Dick. Wednesday the remains were taken to the home of deceased’s daughter, Mrs. Bittings, at Renovo, where final services were held in the afternoon and interment made in Fairview cemetery.
