Biography

Ira was born about 1912. He was the son of Charles Mateer and Phoebe Locke. He passed away about 1998.

The 1920 census has Ira born in about 1918. The 1925 census has him born in about 1917. But his grave stone has his DOB of March 14, 1912.

In 1940 when he signed up for the draft he lived on a boat in Panama, Florida. And he listed his DOB as 1912.
