The daughter of an impoverished nobleman, Marie Luise became a lady-in-waiting to the Elector's wife in 1650. Eight years later, Marie Luise became the Elector's bigamous and morganatic wife, given the unique title of "Raugräfin" and their 13 children were called the "Raugraves".
