Biography
Bartholomew was born in 1823. He is the son of James Ashmore. Bart never married; he served in the Civil War at the same time as his brother, Amos Ashmore (1828-1864). Amos died during this war. After returning home, it is believed that Bart moved into Amos's family farm to help Martha and the six children run the farm. He is living in Texas by 1870. [1]
He died in 1899. He has a legible headstone with complete dates at At Stout Creek Cemetery, Hopkins County, Texas. [2]
